PBF Energy is a US company headquartered in Parsippany . PBF Energy is an independent refiner that owns five petroleum refineries in the United States. Taken together, all systems have a processing capacity of around 900,000 bpd and an average Nelson value of 12.2. Fuels and lubricants, petrochemicals and liquefied gas are produced at the locations in Delaware City , Paulsboro , Toledo , New Orleans and Torrance . By taking over the Torrance refinery fromExxonMobil in 2016 became PBF the fourth largest independent refiner in the United States. The acquisition was valued at more than $ 537.5 million.
The company was founded in 2008 as a joint venture between Petroplus , Blackstone Group and First Reserve Corporation . In 2010 Petroplus ended its stake in PBF. Two years later, in 2012, PBF Energy went public on the NYSE .
