Paulsboro is a small town in New Jersey . It is industrial and is located on the Delaware River . In 2010 Paulsboro had 6,097 inhabitants.
On March 2, 1904, Greenwich Township was founded from parts of the Greenwich Township and named after Samuel Phillip Paul, the son of a settler.

Based on the 2010 United States Census , the city had a total of 6,097 residents, 2,286 households, and 1,591 families in 2010. The population density was 1,241.9 inhabitants per km² and there were 515.9 housing units per km². In 2010, Paulsboro had 3,322 (54.49%) whites, 2,239 (36.72%) African American , 21 (0.34%) natives , 43 (0.71%) Asians, 4 (0.07%) Pacific islanders , 143 (2.35%) people of other races and 325 (5.33%) residents had two or more races. There were 542 (8.89%) Hispanics and Latinos in the city.
There were 2,286 households. Of these, 33.9% had children under the age of 18, 33.7% married couples, 28.1% women without a partner and 30.4% were no families. 25% were made up of people living alone; someone lived with someone over the age of 65 in 9.5% of households. The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size 3.16.

The city is bordered by the parishes of East Greenwich Township , Greenwich Township and West Deptford Township, as well as the Delaware River .
