PCM5D
The PCM5D is a transmission system used by Deutsche Telekom for the access network . The system is used for the multiple utilization of copper connection lines for digital ISDN ports and always consists of a exchange-end device ( PCM5 V D ) and a subscriber-side apparatus ( PCM5 T D ).
The PCM5D can a maximum of five connections a double wire multiplex and by pulse-code modulation transfer (PCM). An HDSL cable with a data rate of 784 kbit / s and the 2B1Q code is used for transmission .
In addition to "normal" ISDN connections with U K0 interface , the PCM5D can also multiplex ISDN connections according to 1TR6 as well as U p0 interface and S 0 bus .
PCM multiplexers are mainly used when there are no longer enough free twin wires in the access network (for example between KVz and APL ) to implement a telephone connection.
properties
- The subscriber-side device is slot PCM5VD from exchange-side with 320 Volt DC powered remotely .
- With connections that are switched via a PCM multiplexer, it is not possible to provide a DSL connection, as the connection does not have a dedicated continuous copper pair.
