Prostaglandin A 1 is a chemical compound from the group of prostaglandins . Prostaglandin A 1 occurs naturally in animals. It is a metabolite in the arachidonic acid - metabolism . PGA 1 induced by H and N- Ras the MAPK signaling pathway to apoptosis . PGA1 inhibits the replication of the hepatitis C virus .

As a cyclopentone prostaglandin, PGA1 partially forms a Michael adduct with free thiol groups .
