The PNB 118 , fully Merdeka PNB 118 Tower , also KL118, is a skyscraper under construction in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur . When completed, the tower will be the tallest building in Malaysia, the tallest building in Southeast Asia, and one of the tallest buildings in the world.
Building history
The project was presented to the public for the first time in 2010. Civil engineering began in 2014. Construction of the tower did not start until 2018. Construction will be completed well after 2022 and will cost an estimated 1.57 billion US dollars.
description
The skyscraper is to be 644 meters high, is one of the so-called “megatalls” and will be one of the highest of its kind in the world when it is completed. The PNB 118 Tower will also be considerably higher than the Petronas Towers , which held the title of tallest building in the world from 1998 to 2004 , and will therefore also be the tallest skyscraper in the city. The roof height of the PNB 118 will only be around 500 meters, followed by a nearly 150-meter-high peak, which, however, just like the twin towers of Petronas AG, is part of the building structure.
The name is derived from the 118 floors that the building is supposed to have.
use
The Merdeka PNB 118 Tower will contain 83 floors of offices. 60 of these are to be used by the builders Permodalan Nasional Berhad . 202 hotel rooms are to be built on 12 floors and 20 apartments on 5 floors.
