The PV Automotive GmbH is a medium sized trading companies in the PV group for vehicle parts and workshop equipment to its customers especially cars - and commercial vehicles including repair shops and petrol stations, based in Essen .

PV Automotive is one of the largest vehicle parts wholesalers in Germany and, as a full-line supplier, offers vehicle , commercial vehicle , truck and bus parts. The other business areas of PV Automotive include the areas of workshop equipment and tools. The company also operates various workshop systems (including AutoFit, AutoProfi).

PV Automotive directly employs around 1,600 people at over 90 locations.

history

Already in 1922 was the family Carl PEICHER, name-giving for the "P" of the current company name, founded and began the distribution of industrial and automotive needs. Since it was founded, the company has entered into numerous partnerships with specialist spare parts and other supplier companies. The company Karl Völlm, eponymous "V" of today's company name, was founded in 1945 . In the years that followed, the two companies worked together as partners until the two companies were merged to form “Peicher + Völlm KG” in 1967.

In the more than 90-year history of the company there have been other partnerships with other industry representatives, such as B. the company Trost from Stuttgart . The stylized letters "PV" of the company name, the initials of the founders Peicher and Völlm, were given to the company in 1991 as part of the change of name to "PV-Rudolf Kottheuser GmbH & Co. KG". In 2006 the company was finally renamed to PV Automotive. Stahlgruber Holding, based in Poing, will acquire 51% of the PV Group's shares subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. With the majority stake in the Essen-based trading company, PV becomes part of the Stahlgruber Group and, from 2014, part of the purchasing cooperation ATR International AG. Participation in the pit stop (workshop chain) is not associated with this.

Since it was founded in 1922, the company has pursued the policy of working with well-known brand manufacturers from the automotive industry. The cooperation partners include a. the companies Monroe , Luk , Ate , NGK , BERU and Bosch .

Services

PV Automotive is a full-line supplier for workshops and petrol station companies. The workshops include car, commercial vehicle, truck and public transport companies. The company stores in its various regional warehouses, e.g. B. in Bielefeld , Hanover and Hagen around 600,000 spare parts positions.

PV Automotive supplies both the Pitstop workshop chain and numerous other independent workshops with spare parts, workshop equipment and tools and acts as a supplier of non-food items for petrol station companies through its subsidiary "Autoteileland". In addition, PV Automotive offers its workshop partners workshop systems such as AutoFit and AutoProfi and provides them with IT solutions and workshop training.
