Pacific Nations Cup 2011
The 2011 Pacific Nations Cup was the sixth edition of the Pacific Nations Cup rugby union tournament . The national teams of Fiji , Japan , Samoa and Tonga were involved . Six games took place between July 2 and 13, 2011, with each team playing once against the other three. Five of the six games were played in Fiji and one in Japan. Originally all games should have been played in Tokyo, but these had to be relocated after the devastating Tōhoku earthquake in 2011 .
Japan won the title for the first time. Although Tonga had the better game point ratio with the same number of points in the table, the tournament victory went to the Japanese due to the result of the direct encounter.
