Padmore Osei

Padmore Osei (* 1972 / 1973 ) is a former German American football poker players of Ghanaian descent.

career

As a teenager, Osei switched from kickboxing to American football and initially played for the Hamburg Hornets. In 1990 he moved to the Hamburg Silver Eagles, with whom he played in the second division, and in 1995 he joined the Hamburg Blue Devils . The 1.81 meter tall running back played there until 2001 and in this position he became one of the best German players of his time. With the Blue Devils he was German champion in 1996, in 1996, 1997 and 1998 he also won the Eurobowl with the Hamburg team . Osei, who studied computer science, had his great football hour at the end of May 1998 when he scored four touchdowns in the game against the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes . In the same year he suffered a cruciate ligament tear . In 2001 he retired from competitive sports due to knee problems.

At the end of 2013 he fell ill with H1N1 . He was in an artificial coma for half a year and then needed care. A large part of the entry fees for the HSH Nordbank Run in June 2017, to which many of his former teammates traveled, went to Osei.

His two younger brothers Claudius and Prince also became football players.
