Pak Seung-zin (born January 11, 1941 in Wŏnsan , † August 5, 2011 at the latest ) was a North Korean football player . Pak Seung-zin started playing football at a young age. With the national team of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea , he took part in the 1966 World Cup in England ; here as captain Pak Seung-zin with the shirt number "8" played all four games against the Soviet Union , Chile , Italy (each group stage) and Portugal (quarter-finals). He scored the 1-1 final against Chile, the 700th World Cup goal, and the first goal in the game against Portugal (3: 5), so that he is North Korea's record scorer at World Cups to this day. In 1966 he was under contract with the Moranbong sports group . In addition, the right wing runner (called the attacker at the World Cup ) was used in three World Cup qualifiers against Australia (two games, three goals) and Syria (one game) in 1965 and 1973 .

Pak Seung-zin was seen in the documentary The Game of Their Lives in October 2002 .
