The Palacio de Anaya in Salamanca , the capital of the Spanish province of the same name, Salamanca in Castile-León , was built in the middle of the 18th century. The building at Plaza de Anaya has been a protected architectural monument ( Bien de Interés Cultural ) since 2011 .

History and description

The Palacio de Anaya was built from 1760 according to the plans of the architects José de Hermosilla and Juan de Sagarvinaga . In its place previously stood the oldest Colegio Mayor of Salamanca, which was founded in 1411 by Archbishop Diego de Anaya Maldonado .

A wide staircase leads to the entrance, which is provided with four columns and a gable . The patio is designed in the neoclassical style with round columns and an open gallery.

The building now houses the Faculty of Languages ​​of the University of Salamanca with a library.
