Paladin Energy Ltd is the second largest uranium mining company in Australia after Energy Resources of Australia , listed on both the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and the Namibian Stock Exchange (NSX). Paladin was founded in 1993 and has been involved in uranium mining since 1988 , contrary to the trend at the time that was caused by falling uranium prices. Its headquarters are in Perth .
In Western Australia, Paladin has uranium mining projects in Manyingee and Oobagooma in Western Australia, Pigrily and Angela / Pamela in the Northern Territory and a Mount Isa project in Queensland . In Africa, Paladin operates two mines: In Namibia , Paladin is involved in the Langer Heinrich uranium mine and intends to increase the production rate. The Kayelekera open pit mine in Malawi has been in operation since April 2009 and closed in February 2014. Paladin is active in other projects such as uranium mining in the Takardeit project in Niger and the Michelin project in Canada . After acquiring Summit Resources Limited , Paladin owns 82.08% of the company's shares.
In order to finance the repayment of bonds worth 250 million US dollars and the expansion of mining activities in the Langer Heinrich uranium mine in Namibia put Energy Resources five years dated fixed income securities on a volume of 300 million US dollars.
In July 2014, 25% of the shares in the "Langer Heinrich" mine were sold to the China National Nuclear Corporation .
