The Namibian Stock Exchange ( English Namibian Stock Exchange ; NSX ), the Stock Exchange of Namibia based in Windhoek . It is considered the second largest in Africa by market capitalization - Namibian dollars 2.083 trillion at the end of 2017. The initial listings have a market capitalization (as of 2017) of 30.02 billion Namibian dollars. The NSX is a member of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA).

The exchange operates under the license of the Namibian Ministry of Finance and the independent Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA). The stock exchange is regulated by the Stock Exchanges Control Act (of 1985 and 1992).

The Namibia Stock Exchange emerged from an association of companies from Namibia and was founded in 1992 as an institution under public law . Its predecessor was launched in Lüderitz around 1900 . The Namibian Stock Exchange Association as a non-profit organization holds the stock exchange license . The Namibian Stock Exchange and Transfer Secretaries (Pty) Ltd. is responsible for the operation and settlement of the exchange . responsible.

Each of a number of founding companies provided seed capital of N $ 10,000 Namibian dollars to its inception , and trading in securities began on September 30, 1992 with dual listings of companies previously only traded on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). The first purely Namibian stock exchange listing and capital increase took place in 1994. Since its inception, the Namibia Stock Exchange has been working as a computer exchange and in November 1998 it was the first exchange within the South African Development Community (SADC) to take over the electronic trading system "JET System" of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).

Bank Windhoek recorded its largest initial public offering on June 20, 2013.
