description

The portal in Weihburggasse

The corner palace in the neo-renaissance style is aligned with its facade in the Weihburggasse. In front of the corner is a round tower that extends to the third floor, the bel étage, while the edge of the building is framed above. The two lower floors, the first floor and the mezzanine, are rusticated and in Weihburggasse pierced by a mighty arched portal framed by pilasters on the side . Over the portal, flanked by two vases, is the coat of arms of the Abensperg-Traun family - a cartouche with a crown, divided lengthways, half silver, half black. Above the portal, on the first floor , a balustraded balcony protrudes over three window axes. The balustrade and a cornice is continued over the entire facade and underlines the bel étage. The windows are provided with alternating triangular and segmented gables , which rest on Ionic three-quarter columns. The top floor is richly decorated with stucco ornaments.
