Palazzo Soranzo Pisani

Palazzo Soranzo Pisani is a palace in Venice in the Veneto region of Italy . It is located in the Sestiere of San Polo overlooking the Grand Canal between the Palazzo Tiepolo and the Palazzo Tiepolo Passi .

description

The building, painted dark red, is a mixture of Gothic and Renaissance (hence probably from the 15th century) and of all the palaces between the Rio San Polo and the Rio di San Tomà it is the lowest. The ground floor has no mezzanine level and is currently not painted. There is a portal to the water with modest dimensions, which is not in the middle of the building, but shifted to the left. (Maybe it's just the remaining part of a pair of portals, the other part of which has meanwhile been bricked up.)

The main floor has a five- keel window in the middle, flanked by two pairs of single windows, all with serrated frames. It is noteworthy that the individual windows all have small balconies , while these are completely missing in the middle five-fold window as a result of a later renovation. The second floor has its window openings in the same places as the main floor, but they are instead provided with round arches and with a common, small balcony on the middle three parts of the middle five-ply window.
