history

The Palazzo da Mula Morosini was built in the 15th century as a residence for the noble Morosini family and is still used today as a private residence. Annina Morosini lived there , who became known for making the palace a meeting place for nobles, artists and politicians: even Kaiser Wilhelm II was a guest here. The Palazzo Centani Morosini was built at a later date.

description

Palazzo da Mula Morosini

The typically Gothic facade extends over four floors. On the unadorned ground floor there are two small single windows and two arched portals to the water in the middle.

The two main floors and the third floor are characterized by the beauty of the three quadruple keel-arched windows , the second floor also by a protruding balcony. Behind the palace there is a small garden adjoining the Palazzo Barbarigo.

One element of particular artistic value is the tapestry decoration in one of the salons.

Palazzo Centani Morosini

The Palazzo Centani Morosini is connected inside with the adjoining Palazzo da Mula Morosini. It was built later than its neighboring building and can be assigned to the first phase of the Baroque .

Its main facade also extends over four floors and shows few decorations; The exclusive equipment with single windows should be emphasized. They are simple and rectangular on the ground floor and first floor, but more complex on the two floors above. The main floor (2nd floor) shows two individual arched windows and a slightly protruding balcony and, in addition, a smaller arched window to the right of it. The top floor only has simple rectangular windows.

The palace has a monumental back courtyard on which there is another building that can be seen as the back of the palace. The facade faces the Rio de le Piere Bianche , a branch of the Rio Toresele . This rear facade has no elements of architectural interest and has an additional wing.
