Pall Mall Blue XL tobacco 65g

Pall Mall / (pɛlˈmɛl /, pælˈmæl or pɔːlˈmɔːl) is the brand name of a type of cigarette owned by the British American Tobacco Group (BAT), the world's second largest tobacco company. The Pall Mall product range does not only include cigarettes, but also filter cigarillos, fine cut cigarillos and filter tubes. It was named after the Pall Mall in London in 1899 , which in turn is named after the ball game of the same name . Due to the Second World War, American soldiers first brought the brand with them to Europe in 1942. The actual market launch in Germany took place in 1989. In two decades it became the leading brand of British American Tobacco, as the manufacturer states on its website. In the “Value-for-Money” segment, Pall Mall is the second best-selling cigarette brand in Germany.

According to the manufacturer, some of the tobacco (Burley tobacco) used to make cigarettes was ripened for two more days in the sun (sun ripened) after the harvest. This should improve the aroma and taste of the product. However, since the tobacco blend was changed in 2014, this process has not been advertised.

Filter cigarillos

What is special about the Pall Mall cigarillos is that they are exclusively made in the long-size format. They consist of stripped mixed tobacco. One box contains 17 cigarillos, they are available in the following varieties:

The first two mentioned are classic rolling tobacco, the last three, on the other hand, are particularly suitable for self-stuffing, as the tobacco is cut wider and therefore more productive. Role Halfzware is available in 38 g portions, Classic Full Flavor is also available in 140 g. The Stix tobacco is offered in 70 or 140 gram cans. According to the manufacturer, up to 100 cigarettes can be made from 70 grams of Stix tobacco and up to 200 cigarettes from 140 grams. (Depending on the amount of tobacco per cigarette)

Others

The individual Pall Mall products can be divided into two groups, Red and Blue, which are derived from the color of the icon on the packaging. Red stands for a strong, full taste, blue for a milder one. The terms “Full Flavor” and “New Orleans” are also used for Red, and “Smooth Taste” and “San Francisco” for Blue. For the US market, the brand's cigarettes are produced with a white activated carbon filter .
