The soccer franchise was founded on January 23, 2017 - according to other information already in 2016 - as Beaches FC and presented two days later as the expansion team of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). Born in Northern Ireland, Trevor Adair , an experienced college football coach, coach and coordinator at the US Football Association and the former Turkish professional player Levent Güler , were the owners , with Trevor Adair also serving as the president of the franchise. Florida-based former college soccer player and now sports manager Eric Arbuzow has been appointed general manager. The team was founded to offer college football players the opportunity to receive professional training in the summer months when college football is not played. The coaching team was formed by Trevor Adair as head coach with a multi-person assistant team, including the aforementioned Levent Guler. The Benjamin School stadium in Palm Beach Gardens was chosen as the home of the team . The stadium has a FieldTurf playing surface, four changing rooms and seats for 1,000 visitors.

In 2017 , the team joined the National Premier Soccer League and finished fifth in the South Region Division's Sunshine Conference . In twelve championship games, the team won four, lost six and ended two with a draw. 17 goals scored were compared to 18 goals conceded, which resulted in a goal difference of -1. Later that year, the team moved from home to appear at the South Folk High School stadium in Stuart . On February 5, 2018, the renaming of Beaches FC to Palm Beach United was announced. At the same time as the rebranding was announced , an experienced soccer coach, Peter Fuller , was introduced, who had already gained over 30 years of experience as a coach and briefly acted as an interim trainer for the major league soccer franchise New England Revolution . At New England Revolution he also acted as a coach for the reserve team and as assistant coach for the professionals. In the 2018 game year , the franchise, which also maintains a US Development Academy , will again compete in the Sunshine Conference of the South Region Division of the NPSL.
