The Palu ( Indonesian Sungai Palu ) is a river on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi . It flows into the Bay of Palu near the city of Palu ( Central Sulawesi Province ) . Until 2018, Sulawesi's oldest arch bridge , the Jembatan Palu IV , ran over its mouth . It was destroyed by a three meter high tsunami after the Sulawesi earthquake in 2018 . The suspension bridge Jembatan Gantung leads further upstream over the Palu.
