Intelsat 8 (formerly PanAmSat 8 or PAS 8 ) is a television satellite of the satellite operator PanAmSat . It was launched under the name PanAmSat 8 on November 4, 1998 on board a Proton rocket for the then PanAmSat. In 2006 Intelsat bought PanAmSat and took over their satellites. PanAmSat 8 was renamed Intelsat 8 on February 1, 2007.
reception
The satellite can be received in East Asia , Australia and the western United States . The transmission takes place in the C and Ku bands . Intelsat 8 should remain in operation until the end of 2019.
