Pangasius myanmar is a species of fish in the genus Pangasius within the shark catfish family. The species is only known from two specimens from near Rangoon in Myanmar .

features

Pangasius myanmar is very similar to the species Pangasius pangasius , but has a narrower head with a narrow mouth and shorter barbels that do not reach the edge of the gill cover. A small oval tooth plate sits on the palatine bone , also in the middle of the ploughshare . The gill trap has 20 to 21 rays on the first arch. The anal fin has 32 soft rays. The species reaches a length of at least 23 centimeters.
