Pankraz von Dietrichstein
Pankraz von Dietrichstein (* 1446 ; † September 4, 1508 ) was an Austrian nobleman, soldier and from 1480 to 1497 caretaker and district judge in Wolfsberg Castle in Carinthia .

He came from the noble family of Dietrichstein and was a younger son of Georg von Dietrichstein auf Rabenstein († 1446) and Elisabeth von Höffling .
Life
In 1483, Pankraz defended his ancestral home, Dietrichstein Castle near Feldkirchen in Carinthia , for a long time against the army of the Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus and only handed the castle over against the promise that no hostility should be perpetrated in it. He also fought in 1492 in the Battle of Villach , in which 17,000 Turks are said to have lost their lives. He appears in 1471, 1487 and 1500 as a caretaker for the bishopric of Bamberg zu Hartneidstein . From 1480 to 1497 he was a caretaker and district judge at Wolfsberg Castle . The later emperor Maximilian I enfeoffed him and the whole family after the extinction of the Osterwitz taverns in 1506 with the heir to the duchy of Carinthia . He died shortly afterwards, on September 4, 1508

Pankraz von Dietrichstein married Barbara Gössl von Thurn and had 5 children with her, including the sons:

- Franz von Dietrichstein, progenitor of the older main line to Weichselstädt and Rabenstein († after 1548)
- Siegmund von Dietrichstein , progenitor of the younger main line to Hollenburg Castle and Finkenstein († 1533)
