Paper Mario: Color Splash ( jap. : ペーパーマリオカラースプラッシュ, Hepburn : Pepa Mario Kara Supurasshu ) is an action-adventure - RPG - video game from the Paper Mario series , that of Intelligent Systems develops and in North America and Europe 7 October 2016, in Australia on October 8, 2016 and in Japan on October 13, 2016 Nintendo exclusively for the Wii U was released. It is the sequel to Paper Mario: Sticker Star (2012). With Paper Mario: The Origami King , a successor was announced in May 2020.

Color Splash was introduced on March 3, 2016 as part of a Nintendo Direct presentation. At the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), additional gameplay was shown during Treehouse Live .

Metacritic 76/100

The game received a negative response even before it was released, as the title was too much based on its predecessor Sticker Star and classic RPG elements, such as in The Legend of the Gate of Eons , were hardly present. However, the game received mostly positive reviews from the trade press; On the Metacritic rating website , it achieved a Metascore of 76 out of a total of 100 possible points, based on 74 ratings.
