Papyrus 44 (after Gregory-Aland with Sigel 44 refers) is an early Greek copy of the New Testament . This papyrus manuscript is from a lectionary and contains Matthew 17 : 1-3.6-7; 18.15-17.19; 25: 8-10 and John 9 : 3-4; 10.8-14; 12.16-18. It was dated to the 6th or 7th century using paleography .

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Alexandrian text type . Aland placed him in Category II .

The manuscript comes from the Epiphanius Monastery near Thebes West in Egypt. It is currently in New York , in the Metropolitan Museum of Art under inventory number 14.1.527.
