Paraćin ( Serbian - Cyrillic Параћин ) is a town and a municipality in the Pomoravlje district in Serbia . It has about 29,000 inhabitants, the community 58,301 inhabitants (as of 2002).

Paraćin was first mentioned by name in a letter from Tsar Lazar around 1375 . It is believed that the city was founded as a Roman camp Sarmatae in the 3rd century . In Paraćin, one of the most beautiful Orthodox churches in Serbia is the Trinity Church in the city center.

The Crnica River flows through Paraćin . The city is located about 150 km southeast of Belgrade on the Belgrade – Niš motorway .
