Paraemhab

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paraemhab ( P3 Rˁ m ḥ3b ) was a high ancient Egyptian dignitary of the New Kingdom . He lived at the end of the 18th dynasty under King Haremhab (ruled around 1319 to 1292 BC) and was high priest in Heliopolis . As high priest, he bore the title of Great One of the Seeers in the house of Re = Wer-mau-em-per-Re ( Wr-m3w-m-pr-Rˁ ). He is known from his stele , which probably comes from Heliopolis and shows Haremhab sacrificing in front of Atum and Hathor - Nebethetepet in the upper field . In addition to his priestly title, he also carried military titles, which indicate that he initially had a military career behind him before he was promoted to the priesthood.
