The Paris peak is 1,645 m high and prominent mountain on Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 6 km northeast of Mount Priam in the Trojan Range . Its southern flank is snow-covered, while the northern flank consists of bare rock slopes.
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey surveyed the mountain in 1955. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named him in 1957 after Paris , a figure from the Iliad by the ancient Greek poet and author Homer .
