Ascanio Parisani (also Ascanio Parisiano ; * in Tolentino ; † April 3, 1549 in Rome ) was a cardinal of the Roman Church .

Life

Parisani was Bishop of Caiazzo in 1528 , but was transferred to Rimini on May 24, 1529 . He received his episcopal ordination on June 20, 1529 in the Sistine Chapel Gabriele Foschi , Archbishop of Durazzo , co-consecrators were Natale de Turre , previously Bishop of Veglia , and Francesco Sperelli , former Bishop of San Leone .

Pope Paul III created Parisani in the consistory of December 9, 1539 as cardinal. His installation as a cardinal priest of the titular church of Santa Pudenziana followed on January 28, 1540 . Parisani was also the papal legate in Umbria and Perugia . From January 8, 1546 to January 7, 1547 he was Camerlengo of the College of Cardinals .

He was buried in the Magdalenenkapelle he donated in the church of San Marcello in Rome.

His nephew Giulio Parisani followed him to the bishopric of Rimini.
