Park House

Park House is a manor house near the Scottish village of Drumoak in the Aberdeenshire Council Area . In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

history

Park House was built by William Moir , who entrusted the Scottish architect Archibald Simpson with the planning of the building. A sales advertisement from 1836 stated the year of construction 1824, while in the literature it was usually 1822.

Park House is isolated around 1.5 kilometers southwest of Drumoak between the left bank of the Dee and the A93 . The two-storey mansion is designed in the neo- Greek classical style. Its main facade, exposed to the south-east, is eleven axes wide. In the middle, a Doric portico with an ornamented frieze emerges from the facade three axes further . One-story wings flank the mansion on both sides. Their facades are plastered with Harl . The vestibule is designed with a dome and Doric columns.
