The Puszczy Knyszyńskiej Landscape Park (Park Krajobrazowy Puszczy Knyszyńskiej im. Prof. Witolda Sławińskiego) is a nature reserve in the Landscape Park category in the Podlaskie Voivodeship , Poland .
The name of the forest area is derived from the small town of Knyszyn , the seat of the urban and rural municipality of the same name. The park was also named after the botanist Witold Sławiński. The park is located in the Białostocki powiat on the territory of the municipalities of Czarna Białostocka , Dobrzyniewo Duże , Gródek , Michałowo , Supraśl and Wasilków ; in the Powiat Moniecki on the territory of the Knyszyn commune and in the Sokólski powiat on the territory of the Janów , Krynki , Sokółka and Szudziałowo communes .
The park was founded on May 24, 1988 and today has an area of 744.47 km² and a buffer zone of 522.55 km². The protected area comprises 78% forest (pine, oak, hornbeam and alder), 13% arable land, 10% meadows and pastures and 2% water areas, traffic routes and buildings. There are twenty nature reserves in the park. (As of 2018) The protected area is crossed by the 93.8-kilometer-long Supraśl River , which flows into the Narew and its tributaries Płoska (23.6 km) and Sokołda (57.5 km). The 38 km long Brzozówka has its source in the landscape protection park and flows to the Biebrza .
For wildlife include adders , grass snakes , slow worms , forest and sand lizards and 153 bird species. The area's flora includes 843 plant communities.
