The Park Zdrojowy (German: Spa Park ) with 19  hectares is the largest of four parks in Ciechocinek , a spa town in the Kujawsko-Pomerania in Poland . The park was laid out in the years 1872–1875 based on a design by Hipolit Cybulski and changes and improvements by Franciszek Szanior.

history

The park emerged from a garden by the Kurhaus, which was created during the construction of the Karol Müller Hotel based on a design by Franciszek Tournelle in 1851. There are currently various giant trees here. In addition to maple , oak , linden and spruce, there is antler , ginko , Caucasian wingnut and tulip tree . A pedunculate oak with a height of 22 meters and a circumference of 390 cm is a natural monument.

Instead of the old, burnt down spa house, a new one was built. In the years 1880–1881, a pump room designed by Edward Cichocki in the “Swiss style” (characteristic of Ciechocinek since then) was built in the park. The pump room is a post and rail construction with board shuttering. On its eastern side there is an extension with a tower. It was rebuilt in the interwar period. A concert hall and the “Bristol” café are located in the pump room.

1909 was a wooden in the middle of the park band shell in Zakopane style built (designed by Paweł Fedders). Other examples of the park architecture are the “Jaś i Małgosia” (German: “ Hansel and Gretel ”) fountain and the steam engine building.

In the Bandshell numerous cultural events, both national: Festiwal Piosenki Młodzieży Niepełnosprawnej Ciechocińskie Impresje Artystyczne (German: Festival of young people with disabilities - artistic impressions of Ciechocinek ), Festiwal Operowo-Operetkowy ( opera and operetta festival ), Wielka Gala Tenorów ( Great gala of tenor singers), Ciechociński Festiwal Bluesowy ( Ciechocinek Blues Festival ) - as well as at the local level: Regionalny Przegląd Orkiestr i zespołów strażackich Na deptaku w Ciechocinku ( Regional Orchestra and Fire Brigade Festival on the Promenade in Ciechocinek ( Folklore Festival of Kuyavian Dobrin Country ).
