  • DPS : 36
  • LSCG : 6

The 2001 parliamentary elections in Montenegro took place on April 22, 2001.

Neither the alliance led by SNP nor that of DPS achieved an absolute majority in the election. For this reason, the DPS formed a minority government supported by the LSCG on the condition that an independence referendum be held within one year. Since this referendum did not materialize, new elections were due the following year.

Result

  • Pobjeda je Crne Gore ( DPS and others) - 36 seats
  • Zajedno za Jugoslaviju (SNP, SNS and NS ) - 33 seats
  • Liberalni savez Crne Gore - 6 seats
  • Albanian minority parties - 2 seats
