Parliamentary elections in Lebanon 1927

The first general election in Lebanon's history was held in 1927. At that time Lebanon was not independent, but under French rule as part of the League of Nations mandate for Syria and Lebanon .

The Assemblée Nationale , the Lebanese parliament, was elected. It had 46 members. 30 of them stood for election in 1927 and the other 16 were added to the body after the Senate was abolished .

Constituencies

The constituencies were made up of the following provinces:

  1. Province Beirut ( French Province Beyrouth ): A total of five elected members of Parliament here.
  2. Bekaa Province ( French Province Békaa )
  3. Mount Lebanon ( French Mont Liban )
  4. Northern Lebanon ( French Liban du Nord )
  5. South Lebanon ( French Liban du Sud )
