description

Parodia crassigibba grows individually. The glossy dark green, depressed spherical shoots reach a diameter of 4 to 17 centimeters. They have a thornless shoot apex. The ten to 15 low and rounded ribs are covered with broad, chin-like humps. The areoles located between the cusps are white. The slightly curved spines are mostly on the surface of the shoot. They are colored white to gray or light brown. The thorns are 0.5 to 3 centimeters long. The thorns are divided into up to a central spine and six to 14 radial spines.

The flowers reach lengths of 4.5 to 6 centimeters and the same diameter. The flower color is very different. It is white to yellow or reddish purple in color. Your pericarpel is thickly woolly and covered with only a few bristles. The scar is dark purple in color. The green, barrel-shaped fruits are swollen and covered with white wool and yellow bristles.
