Parodia ritteri grows individually. The green, initially spherical shoots later become cylindrical. They reach heights of growth of up to 50 centimeters and diameters of 8 to 10 centimeters. The 15 to 21 ribs, which are initially humped, flatten out later. The areoles on them are brownish to whitish. First a single pink to whitish central spine is formed. Later there are four that are difficult to distinguish from the radial spines. The ten to 14 slightly protruding pink to whitish radial spines are 1.4 to 4 centimeters long.

The blood-red to brownish-red or yellowish-red flowers reach lengths of 2.5 to 3.5 centimeters. Your pericarpel is covered with white wool. The scars are light yellow.
