Pasqualina Perrig-Chiello

Pasqua Maria Perrig-Chiello (born October 7, 1952 in Bagheria , Italy ; resident in Ried-Brig ) is a Swiss developmental psychologist and psychotherapist who researched middle and old age .

Life

Perrig-Chiello studied curative education at the University of Freiburg and graduated in 1977 with a licentiate . She received her doctorate in developmental psychology there in 1981 under August Flammer and Meinrad Perrez . From 1985 to 1989 she trained as a systemic family therapist at the Psychiatry Center Oberwallis at the Brig District Hospital. In 1996 she completed her habilitation in psychology at the University of Bern . From 2003 until her retirement she was an honorary professor there. She was also President of the Senior Citizens' University in Bern.

Her comments on marriage and age received media coverage.

Perrig-Chiello is married and has two children.
