Pat Clohessy
Pat Clohessy (actually Patrick Clohessy; born May 16, 1933 ) is a former Australian long-distance runner .
At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1962 he was seventh over three miles and was eliminated in the run-up to the mile run .
In 1963 he became the US champion over three miles. Over the same distance, he became NCAA champions for the University of Houston , starting in 1961 and 1962 .
At the Western Hemisphere Marathon in 1963 and at the Victorian Marathon Club Marathon in 1965, he finished second.
He later trained the marathon runner Robert de Castella, among others . In 1988 he was named a Member of the Order of Australia and inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1997 .
