Pat Jackson

Pat Jackson (born March 26, 1916 in Eltham , London as Patrick Douglas Selmes Jackson , † June 3, 2011 in Amersham , Buckinghamshire ) was a British film and television director .

Live and act

Pat Jackson first worked in 1936 on the short film Night Mail as an associate producer. In the 1930s he directed several documentaries . His first feature film was Western Approaches from 1944. For Serum 703 he was nominated in 1952 for the British Academy Film Award in the category Best British Film . Jackson later retired and spent a short time in Hollywood . He also directed Shadow on the Wall (1950) based on the novel Death in the Doll's House by Lawrence P. Bachmann and Hannah Leessuch. 1952 he was nominated for the episode film Encore at the International Film Festival of Cannes for the Palme d'Or nomination.

He later directed more episodes for television series, including Secret Assignments for John Drake , King Arthur , Number 6 and Five Friends .

Jackson died in Amersham on June 3, 2011 at the age of 95 .
