Pat Jenkins

Sidney Francis "Pat" Jenkins (born December 25, 1911 or 1914 in Norfolk (Virginia) , † September 2, 2006 ) was an American jazz musician (trumpet, vocals).

Jenkins was a founding member of the Savoy Sultans in 1937 , where he was heard not only on the trumpet, but also as a band vocalist in titles such as "We'd Rather Jump Than Swing". After completing military service during World War II, he worked at Tab Smith . 1946/47 he took part in record sessions by Wynonie Harris and Big Joe Turner ; from 1951 to 1976 he was a member of Buddy Tate's orchestra , which had an engagement in the New York Celebrity Club . In the field of jazz he was involved in 21 recording sessions between 1938 and 1973.
