Patrick "Pat" Allan Morrow (born October 18, 1952 in Invermere , British Columbia ) is a Canadian mountaineer and photographer , he became known for the first ascent of the Seven Summits in the Carstensz version .

biography

Morrow grew up in the Canadian province of British Columbia . In 1982 he was selected as photographer for the "Canadian Mount Everest Expedition" , he managed to climb the summit. Since he had already climbed Mount McKinley (1977) and Aconcagua (1981), he had the idea of ​​climbing the highest peaks on the other continents.

On August 5, 1986, Morrow was the first to complete the Seven Summits in the Carstensz variant by climbing Elbrus . Since he had also climbed Mount Kosciuszko on the Australian mainland in 1983, he was also the first of the two variants (Bass and Messner list) to complete. In 1987, Morrow was awarded the Order of Canada . Morrow works as an outdoor cameraman and photographer.
