Patersbach is a part of the local community Altenglan in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Kusel . Until 1969 it was an independent community.

location

Patersbach is located in the North Palatinate Uplands in the north-western municipality. To the east of the development, the Glan runs in a south-north direction. The Patersbach touches the northern edge of the settlement before it flows into the Glan.

The Focken-Mühle residential area also belongs to Patersbach .

history

Presumably founded in the 8th century, the village was first mentioned as "Paderspach" in 1364 in a document.

From 1798 to 1814, when the Palatinate was part of the French Republic (until 1804) and then part of the Napoleonic Empire , Patersbach was incorporated into the Kusel canton . In 1815 the place Austria was added. Just one year later, the place changed to the Kingdom of Bavaria . From 1818 to 1862 the place was part of the Landkommissariat Kusel , which was then converted into a district office.

In 1939 the place was incorporated into the Kusel district. After the Second World War , Patersbach became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . In the course of the first administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate , the place was incorporated into the neighboring municipality of Altenglan in 1969.

District

The district of Patersbach is one of two local districts of the local community Altenglan and has its own local advisory board and a local councilor .

The town council consists of three members in the municipal election held on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Harry Schwarz (SPD) was confirmed in the direct election on May 26, 2019 with a share of the vote of 82.94% for another five years in his office as mayor.

1904 originated in neighboring Bedesbach the Bedesbach station at the opened this year Glan Valley Railway ; a year later it was renamed Bedesbach-Patersbach . Passenger traffic came to a standstill in 1985. The federal highway 420 runs through Patersbach ; The district road 36 coming from Bedesbach opens into this.
