The Patriarchs Bridge ( Russian Патриарший мост Patriarschi most ) is a pedestrian bridge in Moscow . It leads from the Cathedral of Christ the Savior over the island of Baltschug to the left bank of the water diversion canal . The bridge was designed by the architect Mikhail Mikhailovich Posochin , who also built the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
Opened in 2004, 230 m long section across the Moscow River is a box-girder bridge of steel , the decorative reasons with a steel framework is covered. The section over the water diversion channel, opened in 2007, is a T-beam bridge made of reinforced concrete .
