Patrick Antaki (born May 26, 1964 in Cairo ) is a Lebanese skeleton athlete .
Patrick Antaki received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1984 . In 2002 he followed the Olympic skeleton competitions on television and began training that same year. In his first race in the Skeleton America's Cup in November 2002 , he did not reach the goal in Lake Placid after a fall. A month later he was 30 in Calgary . It was followed by other races in the America's Cup, the European Cup and the Challenge Cup . The first highlight was the 2003 Skeleton World Championships in Nagano , where Antaki was 26th and last. Until 2006 he continued to take part regularly in these racing series. The best result in the America's Cup was a 17th place in December 2004 in Park City , in the European Cup a 25th place in December 2005 in Koenigssee was the best result. In the Challenge Cup he was able to achieve several top ten results. In 2005 he organized the Lebanese Skeleton Championship , where he was the only starter in his country to win the title in Calgary. The last major event and the end of his career were the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, where he was looked after by the unqualified Dutchman Peter van Wees . At the climax and goal of his career, Antaki was 27th and last. The naturalized American lives in Dallas .
