Patrick Gasser (born October 8, 1985 ) is a Swiss freestyle skier . He specializes in the discipline of ski cross .

biography

As is usual with many ski crossers, Gasser was also an alpine skier at the beginning of his sports career . In January 2001 he took part in FIS races for the first time , but failed to achieve any notable success in the following years. It wasn't until January 2006 that he achieved two victories. Two years later he was used three times in the Alpine European Cup , with a 46th place remaining his best result.

In the 2008/09 season, Gasser decided to switch to the ski crossers. He made his debut in the Freestyle World Cup on March 14, 2009 in Hasliberg , where he finished 54th. He got his first World Cup points on December 22nd, 2009 with 29th place in San Candido . By the end of the 2009/10 season he improved to 10th place. At the start of the 2010/11 season, Gasser surprisingly won the World Cup race in San Candido on December 18, 2010. He also took second place at the 2011 Swiss Championships in Arosa .
