Patrick Hofmann

Patrick Hofmann (born December 24, 1971 in Borna ) is a German writer. He lives in Berlin .

Life and work

Hofmann received his Abitur in 1990 at the Extended High School in Grimma. After his community service he studied philosophy , German literature and history in Berlin , Leipzig , Moscow and Strasbourg . In 2002 he did his doctorate at the Humboldt University in Berlin on Edmund Husserl's theory of description. After that he lived and worked in Athens for seven years .

In 2008 Hofmann published his first literary work with Drei Erzählungen . In the following year his debut novel The Last Sau was published , which was awarded the Robert Walser Prize in 2010 .
