Patrick Kersten (born December 6, 1972 in Amersfoort ) is a Dutch handball coach and former handball player .
Career
Patrick Kersten started playing handball in his hometown with his two brothers. About E & O Emmen and Showbizcity Aalsmeer the 1.90 meter tall came back player in 1998 to the German second division club SG Hameln , with him in 2000 as a master of the 2. Bundesliga North promotion to the 1. Bundesliga succeeded. The left-hander then switched to the co-promoted and southern champion SG Solingen . After one season he joined the newly promoted Frisch Auf Göppingen . After four years in Germany he went to the Spanish league ASOBAL to Algeciras BM . From 2003 to the end of his career in 2007 he played for HV KRAS / Volendam , with whom he won the Dutch championship in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and a cup winner in 2006 and 2007. Kersten played 105 international matches for the Dutch men's national handball team .
Patrick Kersten later became a trainer at KRAS / Volendam. He has coached the women's first division team at VOC Amsterdam since 2014.
