Patrick Posipal (born March 3, 1988 in Braunschweig ) is a German soccer player who will play for VfB Oldenburg from the 2019 season . He is the son of Peer Posipal and the grandson of the 1954 world champion Josef Posipal .

Career

Posipal first played in the youth division for TSV Winsen (Luhe) before moving to the youth team of the Hamburg sports club in 2005 . For the 2008/09 season he moved to TuS Heeslingen in the Lower Saxony Oberliga . After further positions at FC Oberneuland , TSV Havelse and LSK Hansa, he moved to regional league club SV Meppen in July 2016 , with whom he was promoted to the third division at the end of the 2016/17 season . There he had his first appearance in professional football on July 29, 2017 in the game against Preußen Münster , when he came on for Janik Jesgarzewski in the 80th minute . His contract with the Emsländer, which expired at the end of the third division season 2018/19 , was not extended and he joined the regional division VfB Oldenburg .
