Patrick Schmollinger

Patrick Schmollinger (born September 2, 1972 in Waiblingen ) is a German- born Austrian swimmer and Olympic participant. The 1.93 m tall and 76 kg heavy athlete started for SSG Reutlingen and SU Salzburg .

Career

Schmollinger was able to place several times at German championships:

  • 50 m chest: 1998 3rd place
  • 100 m chest: 1996 runner-up
  • 200 m chest: 1996 runner-up

However, Schmollinger started for Austria during his international appearances.

He celebrated his greatest success in 1998 at the European Short Course Championships in Sheffield , where he was more than 50 m chest behind the German Mark Warnecke (gold in the new world record time of 26.70 seconds) and the Swede Patrik Isaksson (silver in 27.21 seconds) Won bronze in 27.60 seconds.

He had another start over 50 m chest at the European Championships in 1999 in Istanbul , where he reached the semifinals.

At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney he started over 100 m breaststroke, but was eliminated in 1: 02.87 minutes in the run-up (to qualify for the semifinals, he would have had to swim 1: 02.53 minutes) and came in 22nd place out of 66 participants in the overall ranking.

Patrick Schmollinger holds a degree in business administration .
