Patrick Weiser (born December 25, 1971 in Düren ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .

Career

Weiser started playing soccer at FC Hertha Rheidt. At the age of thirteen, he switched to the youth department of 1. FC Köln . He played his first Bundesliga game at the age of 20 on April 11, 1992 against MSV Duisburg. From the 1992/93 season he was a regular within the team, one reason for this was the injury of Henrik Andersen .

After a total of 12 years with the cathedral townspeople, he went to Stade Rennes in France in 1997 .

Two years later, the defender returned to the Bundesliga and played for VfL Wolfsburg from 1999 to 2005 . In August 2005 he returned to 1. FC Köln, with whom he signed a contract until June 30, 2007. In March 2006, he completed a game for the second team in Cologne.

In the 2011/12 season he was part of the team of professionals at 1. FC Köln, before that he was the coach of the club's U16 team. After the dismissal of head coach Ståle Solbakken , he moved with this to the English second division Wolverhampton Wanderers , where he was responsible for the reserve team. The dismissal of Solbakken from the "Wolves" in January 2013 also meant the end of Weiser's engagement there.

From 2014 to 2015 he worked as a trainer for the youth team at Bonner SC . At the Hennes-Weisweiler-Akademie in Hennef , Weiser completed the soccer teacher training course and received his soccer teacher license on March 9, 2016.
