Paul-José Mpoku Ebunge (born April 19, 1992 in Kinshasa ) is a Belgian - Congolese football player . He is under contract with Al-Wahda FC .

Career

After initially playing at Standard Liège in his youth, Mpoku moved to Tottenham Hotspur at the age of 16 for family reasons with a contract term of four years.

In 2010/2011 it was awarded to Leyton Orient by Tottenham . This club was playing in Football League One , the third highest English league. The loan was extended several times, most recently until April 30, 2011.

Mpoku then moved back to Standard Liège from Tottenham Hotspur . Mpoku made his debut in the Jupiler Pro League on November 6, 2011 against Club Brugge (2-1). In the second half of the 2015/16 season he was awarded to the Italian club Cagliari Calcio , which at the time played in Serie B , the second highest Italian league. The promotion succeeded at the end of the season. Mpoku was awarded again in the 2016/17 season. This time he played for the Italian club Chievo Verona in Serie A . After the loan expired, there was initially a permanent move to Chievo Verona.

Shortly before the end of the transfer deadline, Mpoku was awarded by Verona to the Greek club Panathinaikos Athens . After playing for Athens for a year, the clubs involved and the player agreed on a new contract with Standard Liège.

In mid-January 2020 Mpoku will move to Al-Wahda FC in the United Arab Emirates .

After Mpoku had played for various Belgian youth national football teams, he decided to compete in the senior national team for the Congo .
