Paul Anderson (born July 23, 1988 in Leicester ) is an English football player who has played for Ipswich Town since 2013 .
Athletic career
Liverpool FC
His youth club Melton Foxes gave him the clearance for a move to West Bromwich Albion , where he should prove himself in a test training. However, the then manager Adrian Boothroyd informed him that although he was not a bad player, it would not be enough for a career as a professional player. Anderson began to seriously doubt whether his future really belongs to football, but his father, ex-Hull City player Phil Anderson encouraged his son to continue working on his dream. Finally, a dream came true for Paul when his favorite club, Hull City, invited him for a trial session and signed him.
In January 2006, Paul Anderson, who came from Hull City as the U18 top scorer, signed a contract with the 2005 Champions League winner, which in exchange for Anderson gave John Welsh to Hull City. Anderson played a major role in the victory of the Liverpool youth team in the 2006 FA Youth Cup . This was one of the reasons why Liverpool extended his contract early in July until 2010. In 2007 Anderson (31 games / 7 goals) was loaned to Swansea City for one year , where he played a key role in the club's promotion to the English second division ( Football League Championship ) and was named Swansea Young Player of the Year .
Nottingham Forest
After lengthy negotiations it was announced on June 26, 2008 that Liverpool would loan Anderson for another year, this time to Nottingham Forest . On June 30, 2009, Nottingham Forest's management announced the final signing of Paul Anderson for a transfer fee of £ 250,000. The contract period was three years.
In the 2009/10 season Anderson was able to earn a regular place at Forest and completed 37 league games in which he scored four goals. As third in the table, his team moved into the play-off semi-finals against Blackpool FC , but lost after two games and narrowly missed promotion to the Premier League . Also in the Football League Championship 2010/11 Anderson (36 games / 3 goals) reached the play-off with his team, but failed again to rise. This time the team failed with 0: 0 and 1: 3 at the later promoted Swansea City .
English national team
On September 5, 2006, Anderson wore the English national jersey for the first and so far only time and played 0-0 with the U19 against the Netherlands.
